Preserving the past to prepare for the future.
Jacob's Chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it was used as a safe place for slaves on the Underground Railroad. It was founded by Dr. James Still, known as "The Black Doctor of the Pines." The church often host actors who perform reenactments of how members of the Still family were captured from our church and returned to slavery.
